United Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church (UDELC) (1896-1960)
The UDELC resulted from the merger in 1896 of the Danish Lutheran Church of North America (aka The North Church) and the Danish Lutheran Church Association (aka the Blair Church). In 1940, the word "Danish" was deleted from the organization's name, but. it otherwise remained the same. It merged with other churches in 1960 to form the American Lutheran Church (ALC) which in 1988 merged with additional churches to become the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
