Box 5

A large portion of Box 5 is occupied by Einar Vig's transcriptions of the US Census records for Washington County from 1860, 1870 and 1880. These are not online here, since scans of the actual records are freely available elsewhere on the internet (familysearch.org is one location where the data is thoroughly indexed as well).
History Notes from Pilot-Tribune and other Newspapers

Includes lists of local newspaper articles dealing with Blair and Washington County history in chronological order of publication; lists of newspaper photographs of buildings, residences and persons from 1901 forward, the 'Big Irwin Land Affair' (scan #56) and documents noted or contained in 'Book D' (perhaps a Washington County record book?) and various other entries. These papers appear to have been used by Einar Vig in intermediate stages of constructing his collections.

History Notes II

Most of the material in this section appears to be preliminary lists and notes that Einar Vig used later in compiling his many lists. It is not well organized.
