This is an English translation of the initial version of "Danes in America" by P. S. Vig and published by the Danish Publishing House of Blair, Nebraska in 1899-1900. Vig later greatly expanded this work as his contribution to Volume I of "Dansk i Amerika" which was a very large project of C. Rasmussen Publishing Co. of Minneapolis and Chicago.
